These Defender bonnet hinges were created to solve the problems commonly found with many aftermarket hinge designs. The goal was simple: create a premium-quality billet aluminium hinge that looks right on a Defender, feels solid, performs properly, and lasts.
Every detail was carefully considered during development — from the appearance and fitment to sealing, smooth operation, strength, durability, and theft resistance.

Key Features
Adjustable Bonnet Height System
The hinge bushes feature an off-centre machined hole design which allows two bonnet height positions.
This adjustment helps prevent bonnet checker plate from rubbing and damaging paintwork.
The bushes can simply be rotated to select the required height.
Security-Focused Design
Unlike the original factory hinges, the bonnet cannot simply be hinged forward and lifted off due to the internal bush design.
The bonnet pins also feature machined locking dimples which allow the supplied grub screws to positively locate into the pins.
This helps prevent the hinge pins from being knocked sideways or removed during attempted theft.
Premium O-Ring Seal Design
Most bonnet hinges do not include any sealing system, allowing water to sit between the mating surfaces and potentially create long-term corrosion or water traps.
These hinges use integrated O-ring seals underneath the hinge bases to provide improved sealing while maintaining a much cleaner appearance than traditional gasket designs.

Why Cerakote Instead of Anodising?
After extensive testing, anodising was found to be less suitable for external Defender components exposed to:
Many anodised finishes can become stained, faded, or discoloured over time when exposed to strong cleaning chemicals.
For this reason, Cerakote C Series ceramic coating was selected for its significantly improved durability and chemical resistance.

Unlike anodising, every Cerakoted component is individually prepared and hand-finished rather than batch processed.
This means you do not need to worry about damaging expensive parts during normal washing or maintenance.
Roll-Formed Threads for Maximum Strength
All mounting holes are roll tapped rather than conventionally cut.
This process forms the thread within the aluminium instead of removing material, creating significantly stronger threads with improved wear resistance and durability.
This is a considerably higher-quality manufacturing process rarely found on comparable aftermarket Defender parts.

Every Cerakoted component is finished in-house to maintain complete quality control throughout the entire coating process.

This preparation process ensures maximum coating adhesion, durability, and finish quality.
Cerakote C Series coatings are formulated to withstand temperatures up to 1800°F and are available in over 50 colours.
Custom Cerakote colours can also be arranged upon request for an additional charge plus VAT.

The supplied stainless steel security fixings also provide a cleaner and more premium appearance inside the Defender compared to the original factory fixings.
