Hello, I’m Alex, We at S C Engineering, are a family-run business that has been operating in the UK for over 40 years.

All of our products are designed, developed, manufactured, and coated in-house. This allows us to maintain full control over quality at every stage of production and ensures our customers receive products that meet the highest standards.

Our journey into Land Rover Defenders began just over 10 years ago. We enjoyed designing and making parts for are works Defenders, testing them in real-world conditions, and taking on the challenges that both the vehicle and the terrain offered. That passion soon developed into producing parts for others.

We started by selling billet Defender hinges, which over time evolved into security hinges that have been extensively tested. From there, the product range grew to include window blocks, bonnet hinges, and rear boot/door hinges. Each product has taken significant time to design, test, and refine to ensure it performs exactly as intended. Real-world customer feedback plays a huge role in this process, as are goal is always to produce the best possible product without cutting corners.

Originally, We anodised aluminium parts, but anodising can vary in shade from batch to batch, which was frustrating. We later discovered Cerakote, a newer coating that provides consistent colour every time. Unlike anodising, Cerakote is not affected by chemicals, does not fade, and offers superior durability. While it is more expensive, We chose this option for both myself and are customers because quality comes first. Today, all billet Defender items we manufacture are Cerakoted.

We are continually developing new products and welcome ideas and feedback from customers. Their input helps us improve existing designs and create better solutions. We also run a Facebook page where We share are Defender builds, offer advice to those restoring their vehicles, and provide helpful tips from are experience.

Alongside our standard product range, We also take on bespoke Defender projects tailored to individual customers. We particularly enjoy the challenges these custom builds bring and the opportunity to create something truly unique.
